New data has revealed which Australian adverts ruffled the most feathers in 2021.
Industry watchdog Ad Standards on Wednesday revealed its most complained about advertisements of the year - and there were some shockers from big-name brands.
More than 4,500 complaints were received by Ad Standards in 2021, with over 300 adverts assessed by the Panel against the advertising industry code.

'Ad Standards gives a voice to community concerns about advertising content on any media, from broadcast and billboards to digital and social media,' said executive director Richard Bean.

The commercial featured a drunk man publicly urinating on the wall of a small business in an attempt to convince viewers to run their business solely online.
A total of 285 complaints were received by Ad Standards about the advertisement, with the Panel upholding the complaint after finding it breached 'Health and Safety' guidelines.

It attracted 114 complaints due to the narrator's use of the words 'freaking' and 'bloody,' but the Panel dismissed the complaints.
The number three complaint was Grill'd's campaign showing a character resembling McDonald's mascot Ronald McDonald flashing two children in a dark alley before the Grill'd burger mascot saves them.

Ad Standards ruled the campaign, by creative agency The Monkeys, breached Sections 2.3 and 2.4 of the Australian Association of National Advertisers (AANA) Code of Ethics, which relate to the depiction of violence and sexual content.
Other complaints centred on advertisements from non-bank lender Wisr, sex toy store It's Normal, lingerie brand Honey Birdette, SA Police, Meat and Livestock Australia, Libra and IAG Insurance.
Out of the 300 ads assessed by Ad Standards in 2021, the community panel found 'just over 80 advertisements in breach of one or more of the advertising rules'.
